Great fun!

This show is great fun. You have a great protagonist to hate being the Nazi's. Exciting from the first scene and even though Pacino is the lead, for me it's the rest of the cast that steal the show.

Definitely A Binge Worthy TV Series

Binge the whole first season and it was awesome. I loved the format, the plot and cast crew. The acting was on point plus there was never a dull episode at all. Trust me it's a must see TV series, with action, mystery and depth to it.
Dazzingly offensive, moronic and...boring.

First, thanks to those reviewers who saved me so much time by taking this pathetic and immature series apart.
The only thing I can add is what I view as THE most repugnant aspect of this poorly conceived tripe:
That is how Amazon, through this series, has turned Judaism and The Holocaust into a caricature. No. Thus ain't Tarantino and it certainly isn't Marathon Man. It's adolescent, comic book nonsense for those who know no more about history than what they've read on a web article on their phone.
Amazon is apparently desperate to produce new content to keep its subscribers- but please avoid this Jordan Peele insult like the plague.
OK, just saw the opening scene. Seriously?

So the bourgeois Nazi at the BBQ is spotted by a surviving Jew from the camps. Well, it's the '70s, the girl is around 25 and the Nazi "Butcher" she has spotted looks to be around 45. That would make her non-existent in the 40s and him around 15 at that time. Seriously BS. Man, and I was looking forward to this series.

***SPOILER ALERT***
Just finished episode 10 and my reaction is...sigh. I wanted to like this show...I really really wanted to like this show. I am a person who thought Hollywood could make a whole X-Men movie of Magneto hunting Nazi's. This series swung for the fences and missed the ball entirely. The problem was it wanted to be everything and succeeded at nothing. It wanted to be a Jewish Blacksploitation series, a Jewish 'Foxey Brown', but it also tried to be 'Glory' and 'Sophie's Choice' and failed miserably. It wanted to be Tarantino without the good writing and clever dialogue. It wanted to be Robert Rodriguez without the humor. This was a show that a fairly strong cast could not rescue.
Did I mention the series was set in the '70s. You would never know but for the fact that the show tries to hammer this fact into your head at every possible moment in the most ham handed of ways. The characters were all the most obvious of stereotypes imaginable. Ever older Jewish person had the most Yiddish of accents possible. All cool black people had giant fro's. The show featured Grand Canyon sized plot holes that suspension of disbelief simply cannot cover. It featured awful dance routines, and satirical Television sequences that simply failed. The whole, "this is simultaneously exploitation and serious material" just did not work. In this show they tried to make corn syrup for the anti-nazi crowd what fluoride was for the anti-communist crowd.
The season finale just tied a bow on this god awful mess. I won't give the precise detail, even though I wouldn't think it would matter if I did. The finale featured the most stupid plot twist that had ever been committed to film or video. My entire reaction to this episode was, "please... they are not doing this...please make this stop." I might have given this series 2-2.5 stars until they dropped this putrid ending (I might be generous here). The series ending featured a direction towards a season 2 plot. Given how it ended, this show could only be saved by going full cbore crazy although I won't be looking forward to it.
God I hate this

God I hate this.
And not because of its subject matter.
And not because of its trivializing certain historical events.
And not because there are sudden outbreaks of song, and dance, and whatever.
No, I hate it because it's bad story-telling.
It is impossible to ignore its contrivances. Impossible to ignore the characters' ignorance. Impossible to ignore its coincidences that defy belief.
Also, I cannot stand the performances; mainly Pacino's but others as well. Everything here is 'over the top'; dialogue spoken too loud, too menacing, too loving, too too too .....
Or maybe it's me.
Maybe what passes today as edgy, is just not my cup o'tea.
Well be that as it may, I got as far as Episode 3, and I ain't going back for more.

Terrible acting. Terrible story. Filled with inconsistencies and plot lines that made little to no sense. I know it was intended to have a comic-book feel to it, but it isn't even up to the standards of comic books.
The writers merely took a few kernels of historical events, such as Operation Paperclip (the integration of more than a thousand Nazi scientists, engineers, and others into American society in order to use them against the Soviet Union) and tried to create an overwrought miniseries about vigilante vengeance.
None of it was remotely believable.
Am I watching the same show?

I've read some really negative reviews on here I'm not sure why. I'll admit they could've and should've dialed down the schmaltzy accents a bit but other than that I've really enjoyed it. The Tarantino references are more homage than plagiarism I feel. Well worth watching.
Bad, bad, bad...

What can I say? You start watching this and 20 minutes later you wonder "what the hell am I watching?" Then you don't even want to wait for Pacino to appear anymore. He should have skipped this one. F
