OK the first think i would like to say is that "dabangg has no story ". yes you heard it right. then what makes this movie create such a buzz after release ??? The answer is the "Entertaining Factor". After having some major Bollywood flops this year (all of them had a story) dabangg came to the rescue. Remember dialogs from western movie like "the good,the bad and the ugly"-"if you want to shoot ,shoot,dont talk" or " in this world there are two kinds of people my friend, one who load guns and others who dig.you dig" .Dabangg follows similar trend with funny dialogs. The action sequences have been shot in a different manner. right from the first action sequence to the last one, you wont be disappointed with any of action scenes. stunts have been beautifully choreographed. S Vijayan(action director) has a long way to go in Bollywood . Songs are Chartbusters ! All the 5 songs have been placed in the right moment. if you are about to feel that the movie is dragging, then a song arrives. Finally about performances. Its Salman khan show.He has 70-80 minutes role in the entire movie. And you will love it !His style,attitude, dialog delivery is fantastic. Next is Arbaaz Khan. He still has his old style of acting which is average. But the man who gave a neck to neck competition to Salman was Sonu Sood. He was brilliant ! This handsome guy might have to spend his rest of Bollywood career as a bad boy after this performance.Newcomer Sonakshi Sinha was good looking. She was decent. Rest characters were good as they didn't have much to do. So finally when you come out of the Multiplex, you would never think of a story. After many duds in Bollywood you witnessed one which is Entertaining. thats worth your money. my rating 10 on 10 !

This movie will make producers think that "Entertainment" is the key business for movies NOT message. We have seen movies like 3 Idiots, Peepli Live, Khatta Meetha etc. but I am sure this movie will change this trend. 100% action 200% comedy. This movie is having potential to make you mad and you will start using this again and again: "Kamaal karte ho Pandey ji..". Direction is fabulous and songs(specially Munni Badnam, Humka Peeni hai) will make you rock. Movie is full of dialogue and drama. If you are afraid of reading books or newspaper and expecting a message than "This movie is not for you", but if you like entertainment and enjoy fully "this is the best movie of the decade". Very first scene will make you laugh and throughout the movie, you will hardly get a chance to close your jaw!! It is not an emotional drama or message oriented film; it is purely entertainer. It is very clean(no vulgarity) entertaining movie; you can watch it many times. Prepare your mindset that you are going for entertainment and NOT message, I bet you will enjoy every moment.

I was avoiding it for a long time but atlast watched as I had heard enough of the hype. Now I just don't know what to say. Am truly astonished how they won so many awards for it. Well I wonder how many movies they copied from. Mmmmm Inglourious Basterds, Matrix, Desperado, Planet Terror, The Transporter, Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight, Romeo must Die, District B 13, Kill Bill of what I know and etc etc. There is no character development and they have not tried to characterize any other character than Chulbul Pandey's. Dialogs are pathetic for me. There is no scene where I could laugh. Action scenes are much more pathetic and its foolish to say that why can't we like such scenes in bollywood if we like such mindless action in Hollywood movies. The answer is simple they are screened with perfection making them realistic with efficient direction. Abhinav Kashyap here simply tries to grab the style of Tarantino and place it exactly over his project but he even could not do that. Sonakshi Sinha has nothing to do with the movie and it would not have mattered at all if they removed her completely. She should at least learn to speak the dialogs if she's been given two or so. There is practically no script involved and its like someone wrote a story in childhood over which they tried to make a movie.Especially the climax is where you'll wanna bang your head. On whole the movie is below average. Songs are nice and are only savior. It got the hype of Salman and became a blockbuster. Obviously Salman fans must love it but others stay away from it.

This movie is a complete package of Action and Comedy.The dialogues are awesome.The acting is also good.But Salman Khan steals the show,the mustache suites him a lot.The acting of Sonakshi Sinha is very good according to her first movie and she is beautiful. The Story is very nice,but there are some flaws too,like they did not tell very much about the villain ,it was a little confusing to know what was his profession plus the second flaw was that they did not tell the name of the character of the heroin ,i didn't notice it in the movie but afterward i thought about it and i didn't get it.The End fight was one of the best directed fights ever. The songs and music in the movie is very good,the songs were not getting out of my mind after i watched the movie. This is a movie that only Salman Khan can do,no one would be applicable at his place.A movie worth watching 4 or 5 times .

this movie doesn't work because of it's story in fact there's nothing in it. everything is in it's execution. it's really very tough to get a perfect performance from khan. people say he isn't best of the actors and being his fan i truly agree. is he one of the better actors? definitely no. is he the worst? again the answer is no but if he isn't guided he'll end up acting really weird and if he's used well{read London dreams} he'll give one of his career best performance. this is what he has done in this film.he has acted out himself as told he's the darling of masses. the main intention of a movie is to entertain and that is what this one does. it entertains and it entertains in a big way. this film is a rage, mediocre story, intelligent screenplay and a tamed khan who goes mad in his own limits. the movie works only because of this superstar image. nobody else could have pulled this off overall it's a khan's show all over, a treat for all the fans and non-fans are definitely not going to complain. and come on nobody promised you a 3 idiots or rajneeti in the first place, watch it for what it is. highly recommended and it is definitely worth your hard earned money.

Caution: To all who want some meaningful message from a film. Stay away from it.Its not for them. Its basically for the audience who love Hindi film full of Masala(spicy),action,comedy,drama and only expect only 2 thing from the movie thats Total ENTERTAINMENT and stress reliever. And if you are a Salman Khan fan for them its Icing on the cake. Dabangg is a movie about Chulbul Pandey AKA Robinhood Pandey,a fearless,ruthless but funny and lovable Cop in Uttar Pradesh, India. Its all about the relationship he shares with his mother, step father and step brother and the love of his life. Its been almost a decade that Hindi cinema has produced a movie of the golden era of action,comedy, song and dance saga. Now a day a good movies means movie with heavy message, serious actor less funny.So Dabangg gives a refreshing break from those serious movies and their social concern. Acting wise Its Salman leads the way. Sonakshi impressive in her debut, Arbaaz OK, Sonu was good but his character could have been better. Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapadia good in minuscule role. Anupam Kher and Om Puri are neglected. The film is weak at script section. There are lots of happening in the story. You can't predict where it will go in next 5 minutes. But who care, if you have Salman Khan, hit music and technically admirable action, great cinematography and so on. Action is the additional USP of the film. The fight scene in the starting and the climax scene fight of Salman and Sonu are worth watching. The movie's soul is Salman. I can't imagine any Bollywood actor do such kind of role and take the whole movie on his shoulder. It doesn't look conventional for any actor to play a larger than life role but still be grounded. Music is good and compliments the flow. Debutant director Abhinav Kashyap prove his metals by directing a commercial movie in the era of meaningful movie just like his sibling Anurag Kashyap who did a vice-versa some years ago. Its not easy to make contemporary movie with a 40 years old story and using the star power of Salman right place and right time. All in all its brings back the magic of a typical 80s Amitabh Bachchan starer movie with lots of action, comedy, drama and music. If you like that kind of movie then go with an open mind, only then you will like it else you'll keep wondering why people are loving this movie and Chulbul Pandey so much. Regards, :)

Now it's not written in the Holy rule books of Filmography that a movie has to be thought provoking, emotional, influential, coherent and real; to be regarded as respectable. Dabangg is a joke. A joke in the form of a movie. And it's the finest of jokes i've ever seen happening. And sometimes movies don't need the fine touch of a commendable story or a cinematic sequence, if the dramatization and build of the 'protagonist' is as impeccable as in Dabangg. The Jokey names in Dabangg make you whicker more than often, but when it comes to the dialogues and one-liners, you can't help but literally laugh your ass out. I bet even Scorsesse or Tarantino would enjoy such a film, if not tend to laugh their ass out. The background music is like one of those cowboy gunfight tracks, and it combines brilliantly with Salman's patronizing attitude. On the whole , Dabangg owns a new style, and i won't be surprised if it gives rise to a whole new genre , something like film-noir. I'd like to remind you again , the best joke in the world is not about two hunters in a jungle, it's Dabangg - The Bang.

I got persuaded by my wife to see it based on all the hype and hoopla generated. However it turn out bigger dud than i expected. I wonder what critics saw here to reward 3, 3.5, 4 out of 5, but to me it was a movie without any soul and character. Salmaan khan proves again that he can't do any justice to a movie unless in hand of a seasoned director. Sonakshi was just an eye candy and probably this is the biggest break she can get. She has got looks but her dialog deliver and emotional were avoidable. I was amazed to see what a marketing hype can do. There were loads of families thronging theater as if they are about to witness a master piece. for 2hr 15min it was pin drop silence in the darkened hall with only a few chuckles here and there. I could easily see people loosing interest and playing with their mobile phones. The only high being music, but I would have better spent my Rs 180 on a Dabang CD than watching and wasting my time in the theater.

My dear Salman and brothers, please quit and do it now ...!!!! After such a ridiculous movie, it comes out very clearly that you people are nowhere close to the class that you once were. Horrible movie / ridiculous story / crappy direction / cheap choreography ....!!! I don't believe that this movie worked at all forget being a big hit. And if it really is, it must be in places like UP / MP / Bihar.....Not in the civilized world. And what is with Malaika doing Item numbers ???? So is old enough to play "MAA" in the daily soaps and these folks are getting her to do Item nos.....HAHAHA !!! High time to stop cheapness in movies and start some class and finesse.... Look at Aamir and learn from him ..... People...once again ....stay away from this one

Please guys, avoid watching this movie. Utter waste of time and money. All i can think of is over-acting of Sallu and mindless PJs. Also, everything seems so fake be it people living or dying. The chic has a nice body (the only good part of the movie).Please do not be misled by the high ratings it has received from some of Sallu fans and idiots.Its shameful for actors like Om Puri, Anupam Kher and Mahesh Manjkrekar to be a part of such flicks to earn their bread and Butter. Arbaaz needs to settle down with his wife and save the audience the pain. This movie takes me back to Jewel Thief days when Dev Anand was let loose and he killed the audience with overacting and stupid talk and walk. I hope Bollywood comes up with sensible and original movies in future. People please stop patronizing such crap in the name of entertainment.
